Walnut and Butternut Cremation Urn with Gold Leaf Details
Here is a truely unique cremation urn, made from butternut wood and black walnut with a touch of gold leaf detailing.
I always love the combination of butternut wood and black walnut. It consistently creates a harmonious blend of rich and warm tones with a beautiful balance of wood grains, reflecting the natural beauty of these magnificent materials.
The addition of gold leaf details in the "imperfections" of the wood, in the touch of bark, echoes the Kintsugi method, an ancient Japanese art that celebrates imperfections and reveals the beauty they hold. Embracing the philosophy that perfection does not exist, both in nature and in humans, this urn illustrates the belief that beauty emerges from imperfections and the traces left by life. For this technique, I use an imitation gold leaf that is actually brass (copper and zinc), attentive to the ethical sourcing of materials.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this funeral urn is finished with eco-friendly oil applied by hand in multiple layers. The smooth and satin finish enhances the natural beauty of the woods, the depth of their colors, and highlights their intrinsic qualities. The interior has an additional layer of beeswax that is polished into a soft surface, offering a timeless and respectful final resting place for the ashes of your loved one.
Dimensions: 7 1/4" x 6 1/4" x 8 1/2"
Ash capacity: 217 cubic inches
Please note that the flower stand shown is not included with the urn. However, if you wish to complement with additional elements, it is possible to customize orders. Please contact me for any inquiries.
