Torrefied Poplar and B.C. Fir Cremation Urn

This one of a kind cremation urn is crafted from a harmonious pairing of torrefied poplar and B.C. fir, two beautiful complementary woods. Carefully handcrafted in my workshop, this piece reflects a timeless balance between warmth, simplicity, and refinement.
 
The torrefied poplar, transformed through a natural heat-treatment process, reveals deep chocolate-brown and reddish tones with a fine regular grain. In contrast, the B.C. fir brings a gentle warmth with its golden honey-colored hues and pronounced, flowing grain. Together, these woods create a striking yet peaceful composition, where light and dark exist in perfect harmony.
 
To preserve and enhance the beauty of the wood, I apply a premium eco-friendly oil finish by hand in several carefully polished coats. This finish provides lasting protection while revealing the richness of the wood with a soft satin sheen. The interior is finished with the same care and receives an additional layer of hand-polished beeswax, creating a smooth and refined resting place for your loved one's ashes.
