Maple and Exquisite Spalted Maple Cremation Urn

This is one of my absolute favorites; a maple and exquisite spalted maple cremation urn that has presence like no other.
 
To me, this cremation urn is a perfect example that the greatest beauty is found in nature. I feel incredibly fortunate to have come across this magnificent wood, marked by the passage of weather and time. This spalted maple gives the piece a unique character and texture to the touch. The black fine lines created by fungi, make me think of ink drawings in an abstract painting. Next to the perfectly soft and smooth maple, the not so perfect spalted maple gives  this urn a beautiful contrast of elements..
 
This precious wood, sliced into thin layers just a few millimeters thick, is applied to a base of birch wood, a stable and consistent material. On the inside of the urn, you will see this birch.
 
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this cremation urn is finished with an eco-friendly hand-rubbed oil. The smooth satin finish enhances the natural allure of the woods, offering a timeless and respectful final resting place. The interior is treated with an additional coat of beeswax, polished to a soft surface to receive and protect the ashes of your loved one.
