Cherry Wood and Exquisite Maple Cremation Urn

Here is a beautiful cherry wood and exquisite maple cremation urn, one of my most recent creations. This harmonious blend of woods is imprinted with softness in pinkish tones and these two noble woods reveal their character with their distinct textures. This urn is a perfect choice for those seeking to represent and honor the memory of their loved one with a unique piece made by hand with great care. 
 
The cherry, often quite consistent in its shades, presents here earthy colors in a slight gradient, giving it a beautiful depth. As for the maple, it is sawn to reveal the medullary rays of the wood. This cut, known as quarter-sawn, reveals the delicate lace, often hidden but so splendid of this material. It captures light and marvels with its natural and sparkling beauty. In the center, two fine lines make the transition between the main essences, one in maple and the other in black walnut creating a touch of contrast. 
 
This urn is protected by a plant based oil finish applied by hand in several layers. Polished between each coat, the final appearance is a soft satin that is pleasing to the eye and touch. This high-quality, eco-friendly, and biodegradable oil enhances the depth and richness of the wood’s natural colors. A fine coat of beeswax is applied on the interior of the urn, polished to a soft and smooth surface to preserve the ashes of your dearly departed.
